Stephen Colbert's Mock Anti Gay Marriage Commercial: It's 'Arma-Gay-don'

Inspired by New York Gov. David Paterson introducing a gay marriage bill in that state and by recently legalized gay marriage in Iowa and Vermont, satirist Stephen Colbert has formed The Colbert Coalition to produce his own version of the National Organization for Marriage's frightening anti lesbian and gay rights commercial opposing same-sex marriage.  'Arma-Gay-don' is at hand according to Colbert.

Stephen Colbert has proclaimed his total hatred for gay marriage and aired his own ad to support NOM (National Organization for Marriage). NOM released a commercial last week portraying a "gay storm" on its way to demolishing Christian values. Colbert says, "It is like watching the 700 Club and the Weather Channel at the same time."

Colbert got excited over the recent passing of gay marriage in Iowa and Vermont, but it was Governor David Paterson's gay marriage legislation in New York that really motivated Colbert to get involved. He produced his version of the gay marriage storm ad, as "New York can't handle a flood of gay marriage. As it is, it's impossible to get a wedding announcement in the Times. I had to release Carbon Monoxide into an apartment building then work the wedding into the police interview."

He also says that the storm is the "Arma-GAY-don."

Colbert continues by explaining he doesn't understand why we can't "uphold marriage as between a man, woman, and an emperors club hooker."

His version of the commercial emphasizes that the storm is "rough winds blowing in from the east, and even rougher winds blowing from the west. Before long, the winds will be blowing each other."
