Hold on to your hats ladies! Out actress Evan Rachel Wood (Mildred Pierce, The Wrestler) and Ellen Page (Juno, Inception) are set to costar in Into the Forest by out director Patricia Rozema, who helmed the lesbian-themed films When Night is Falling and I’ve Heard the Mermaids Singing. But don’t get too, too excited…Rozema won’t be making her third lesbian-themed movie with Into the Forest, as her fans may have hoped for an Evan and Ellen romantic pairing – rather, they will play sisters in a not-so-distant dystopian future, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is based on the 1998 novel by Jean Hegland in which sisters Nell and Eva fight survive in the wilds of northern California 30 miles away from the nearest town following incidents that cause electricity to fail and resources to run out.

Rozema also directed the Jennifer Jason Leigh starrer based on Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park in the late ‘90s.

The only way this casting could be more exciting is if Evan and Ellen’s characters were to run into Katniss Everdeen up on the woods of Nor-Cal.
