The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center announced today that it is joining the City of Los Angeles in its economic boycott of Arizona, LA radio station KPCC is reporting.
Going forward, the center will prohibit staff travel for conferences and will take all necessary steps to end any business relationships with all companies headquartered in the Grand Canyon state.
The center's Chief of Staff Darrel Cummings told the radio station, "The recent passage of two bills in Arizona that promote discrimination are rooted in racist bigotry. Our community easily recognizes legalized bigotry and discrimination because we have been fighting it so long and so often."
