NBA's Gilbert Arenas Attacks "Ugly" WNBA Players in Disgusting, Misogynist Instagram Post

Gilbert Arenas' comments are gross, sexist, and should have been long deleted by now.

Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas recently took to Instagram to bash the women of the WNBA with disgustingly misogynist statements. The trend with social media is often that when celebrities make a post that's deemed inappropriate by the public, they quickly erase it and issue some sort of apology, but Arenas, however, doesn't seem to care at all that the comments he recently posted on his Instagram are sexist, degrading, and deeply disturbing. Although Arenas is an athlete, his Instagram post indicates he thinks that T&A over athletic prowess would increase ticket sales for the WNBA.

In his post, Arenas offers "statistics" demonstrating just how right he is to point out that if the WNBA had more "cutiepies" than "beanpies" who look like "cast members from Orange is the New Black" then games might be "soldouteverywhere," even if the players couldn't score a single layup. Just because you have to actually read it to believe it, here's the full caption from Gilbert's Instagram, along with the video of two scantily clad women shooting hoops.

"NOW this is what america was hoping for when they announced the #WNBA back in 1996... not a bunch of chicks running around looking like, cast members from#orangeisthenewblack...dont get me wrong, they have few #cutiepies but theres a whole alotta #beanpies running around hahahahahaha if #skylardiggins came out like this,I dont care if she missed every layup..imma buy season tickets and I dont even know where the fuck #tulsa is hahahaha #2016newwnbaoutfitPLS and if u think this is sexist,9 times out of 10 u the ugly one and we didnt pay to come see u play anyway #donkeykong ...smdh#thiswillbeawesome #soldouteverywhere"

Even worse - because this somehow gets worse - Gilbert's post has inspired others to comment in agreement. As usual, ignorance is alive and well. We hope all further recognition of this Instagram post regards it as a sad, disrespectful joke that's offensive to the strong, admirable, and wildly hard-working ladies of the WNBA and, for whatever reason they got dragged into this, the cast of Orange is the New Black. For shame.
