A couple of ladies we love are collaborating on a new TV series. Ellen DeGeneres’s company, A Very Good Production, and Warner Bros. TV are adapting Lauren Graham’s debut novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, as an hourlong drama, Deadline reports.

Someday, Someday, Maybe, published April 30, is about young New Yorker Franny Banks, who’s in the last six months of her three-year plan to make it as an actress. It’s already made the New York Times best-seller list, and a Washington Post reviewer called it “heartfelt, hilarious and, hopefully, just the first example of what [Graham] can do with the written word.” Set in the mid-1990s, it reflects to some degree Graham’s experiences before she achieved fame with such projects as Gilmore Girls, Bad Santa, and Parenthood, but she has said it is not autobiographical.

Graham and her pal DeGeneres will both be executive producers on the series, along with Jeff Kleeman from DeGeneres’s company. Graham will also write the script.
