Happy Women's Equality Day, everyone! Exactly 95 years ago today, the US government granted women the right to vote and with that decision came a national day of recognition (as it should have). In honor of the occasion, Focus Features' upcoming film Suffragette - about the women who dedicated their lives to voting equality in early-20th century Britain - has released a new official poster featuring stars Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Meryl Streep looking as fierce as humanly possible. Check it out/print it and hang it on all your walls now:
Because you should definitely want more Suffragette in your life, also check out this new video celebrating the accomplishments of Emmeline Pankhurst, who's played by Mery Streep in the film. There's certainly more work to be done in terms of equality, but it's important to remember just how much getting to this point took and the amazing women who are the reason we've come so far.
