WATCH: Masters of Sex Trailer Teases Lizzy Caplan / Caitlin Fitzgerald Kiss

Showtime has released a steamy trailer for season three of its historical drama Masters of Sex, and we absolutely can't wait for this show to return to our screens. This season will jump to 1966 and the publication of Bill (Michael Sheen) and Virginia's (Caplan) sexual research. The trailer also includes a kiss between Virginia and Caitlin Fitzgerald's Libby, the oft sidelined wife of the titular Masters.

Libby started to branch out by herself in the second season but it looks like she might really be taking matters into her own hands (literally, if we get our wish) this year.

This isn't the first time Masters has included lesbians. Previous seasons featured the freshly Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford as prostitute-making-good Bettie DiMello and Sarah Silverman briefly as her girlfriend Helen.

Released along with the trailer, an eye-catching poster hints at the central love triangle becoming a whole other shape with Bill, Virginia, and Libby lying prone on a Twister mat with the words “Come together.” Fun historical fact: the game Twister was released in 1966!

We suspect we won't actual be witness to a torrid affair between Virginia and Libby this season, but we can dream. When a character can legitimately say, “We are the sexual revolution,” we know this season is going to be a ride. If that character is played by Lizzy Caplan we just might not notice anything else.

Masters of Sex returns July 12 on Showtime.
