Pitch Perfect, about collegiate a cappella competition, is shaping up to be the comedy of the season.  One of its break-out stars, Aussie Rebel Wilson, appeared on The Tonight Show to demonstrate to Jay Leno and Bryan Cranston just how she landed her plum role in the film.

In the movie the hilarious Rebel plays Fat Amy, who, along with characters played by Anna Kendrick, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow and Esther Dean (who’s character is a lesbian) round out a misfit a capella group clawing their way to the top.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Leno asked Rebel (Bridesmaids, Bachelorette)  if she had to sing when she auditioned for the role, so Rebel not only answered the question, she gave a stirring rendition of her audition song, Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” that ended with her standing on the couch.

For more of Rebel check out her interview with our sibling site Advocate.com. She touched on her lesbian role in A Few Best Men and addressed her lesbian fanbase.
