Gaming powerhouse Electronic Arts (EA) is the first publisher to lend its support of the first-ever gaming and tech convention solely geared to the LGBTQ community.
EA, the company responsible for mega-franchises including Madden NFL, Battlefield, Sims, Medal of Honor, Dead Space, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age,will have a significant presence at the convention that is slated for August 3-4, 2013 in San Francisco.
“EA believes that to be truly innovative, you must be inclusive. We are proud to be a part of this event,” said Ginger Maseda, who’s heading up the Global Diversity and Inclusion initiatives at EA.
GaymerCon’s Industry Relations Director Jack Devries added, “EA not only publishes some of the best games in the world, but they’re the most progressive company in the industry. We’re thrilled and honored to have them involved.”
The company, based in California was founded in 1982, and was named one of the best places to work for LGBT equality in 2010 by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The HRC gave it a rating of 100% on the corporate equality index.
