Andrew is still enjoying his wilderness era.
Over the last two decades, the singer-songwriter has tacked on different monickers throughout his career including Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin, and the current Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.
McMahon's new album, Tilt At The Wind No More, tells a very important chapter in his life as he just celebrated his 40th birthday and 15 years of marriage.
"This was a pretty pivotal year for me. A lot of these songs are about moments when I've chosen to push so hard against something, when I probably could have thrown my hands in the air and just relaxed. A lot of the tunes on this record are about finding yourself at a peaceful place," McMahon tells PRIDE.
The singer has also brought his energy to Pride festivals all around the world and is hoping to continue to do so this year.
"I was in Australia as they were just kicking off Pride this year. This is definitely the place to be. Keep me on your list if you have any suggestions. I would be honored to be out there and celebrate. I'm always there for a good party and a celebration of our connectedness as human beings. Believe me, I would be glad to be there."
Speaking of places he'd like to perform at, the singer is manifesting an appearance on Saturday Night Live.
"I'm not one to pine for awards or accolades. I think it would be nice to get a record in consideration for the Grammys or something to that effect. That's one hurdle I haven't leapt over yet. My biggest dream is probably playing Saturday Night Live. When I was ten years old and watched Saturday Night Live, that's where I would discover all of my favorite new music. It was so transformative as a young artist to see my heroes get on that stage. It would be a dream come true to step onto that stage one of these days."
