WATCH: Pretty Little Liars Looks Better than EVER in Film Noir Episode - Plus, Paily Gets Some Love

From the looks of this promo Pretty Little Liars nails its noir episode, and we can't wait!

Renowned for its “themed” episodes, Pretty Little Liars is throwing it back to a style it was made for with next week’s film noir episode entitled “Shadow Play,” and we film geeks here at SheWired are losing our minds over the news and the promo for the episode.

Femme fatales, hard-boiled detectives and criminals, stark lighting, reflective surfaces, expressionistic angles, and put-on vocal mannerisms, are just a few of the tropes of film noir – a style that thrived in cinema post World War II--and from the episode’s set design, lighting, hair, make-up and costumes, the team at PLL has nailed it!

And if it weren’t enough that PLL is tackling a visual style that gave rise to the likes of actresses including Barbara Stanwyck, Lauren Bacall, Lana Turner, and Rita Hayworth, it looks as though Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Paige (Lindsey Shaw) get a real old-fashioned Hollywood noir screen kiss after Paige has been noticeably missing from Rosewood these past few episodes.
