Cher Calls in to the Ellen DeGeneres Show to Support Chaz and Blast Transphobes

Chaz Bono appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday to chat about his upcoming appearance on Dancing with the Stars, which has caused the transphobes to crawl out of the woodwork. But he was upstaged by his iconic mom when Cher called in to blast the haters, according to E! Online.

"If you got that excess time and that amount of hostility, I'm not so sure that I can say anything to you that would make you change your feelings," Cher said. "Those are feelings of such hostility and fear I don't know that I would have any magic words to make you feel more comfortable and to soothe you into not being terrified of my child dancing on Dancing With the Fucking Stars."

The studio audience erupted in applause at Cher's defense of Chaz, causing Ellen to add that it's important for those protesting the show to remember that Chaz is someone's child. "What if someone attacked your child? Try to put yourself in someone else's shoes," DeGeneres said.
