Golfer Christina Kim is 'Swinging from her Heels!'

Spring has sprung and the thoughts of lesbians, young and old alike, turn to how to get control of that new driver or hybrid club you picked up on clearance during the holidays. While we’ve been binge buying equipment and binge eating mac and cheese, pro golfer Christina Kim finished writing a book.

“It was a very memorable year for me to put my life down in print,” says Christina. “It gives people a chance to see the truth behind the LPGA, the way we are as human beings, to maybe present women with the idea of being fearless and having a philosophy and desire to live life to the fullest. There might even be hidden morals or something like that in there. I don’t really live by any . . .”

Christina has people like Tiger Woods trying to steal her thunder so she wastes no time. Starting in chapter one she delves into subjects like getting laid while on tour and the ever-present lesbian issue. Hear are a couple of quotes that are jewels:

“It's not easy to get laid on the LPGA tour…it's slim pickings in our galleries: horny teens clutching Natalie Gulbis calendars, dads with their daughters, or retirees in sandals with black socks.”

Kim writes:

“Because there's never been an honest, open discussion about lesbianism on tour, it has become a source of fascination among many golf fans--and especially male reporters…There are no super-freaky homophobes out here or militant man-haters. At most, a player's sexuality may be an occasional practice-round conversation piece:‘Hey, did you hear that so-and-so likes girls? Really? Huh. So, did you hit an 8-iron or a 9?’”

The book spans her 2009 LPGA tour and she’s not afraid to talk about money and where it all goes. She’s considered one of the top players, but has only won two times in seven years and has never finished in the top ten. Her personality is what’s fueling the fire that always puts her in the highlight reel though. Gregarious?…marketable? Is there a difference?

Yahoosports.com calls her the “human volume knob” which polarizes people. Some say she’s too raucous, others can’t get enough of her. Either way she’s very recognizable in the tee box with her signature Kangol beret and attire John Daley would approve of.

Author Rick Rielly summed it up nicely on the dust cover: “Christina Kim is more fun than a drunk puppy.”
