Yesterday, the story of Hong Kong’s wealthiest businessman, who offered roughly $65 million American dollars to the man who could “woo” his lesbian daughter away from her wife, went viral.

While many may view property developer Cecil Chao Sze-tsung’s marriage bounty as homophobic, regressive and downright emotionally abusive, his daughter Gigi Chao (pictured) has now come to father's defense saying she was “touched” and “moved” by his concern for her.  

"At first I was entertained by it (Cecil’s marriage bounty) and then that entertainment turned into the realization and conviction that I am a really lucky girl to have such a loving daddy," Gigi told The Telegraph. "It's really sweet of him to do something like this as an expression of his fatherly love."

Cecil was inspired to offer a bounty upon hearing reports this week that Gigi married her female partner of seven years, Sean Eav, in Paris on April 4.

Although Cecil did say he would not force his daughter to marry anyone, he did put out the call for eligible -- namely that they have a penis and not be a complete ass – suitors. It is comforting to know that while Cecil is opposed to Gigi’s lesbian marriage he does not discriminate against poor men, as he also offered the right guy start-up capital for his own business.

Since Cecil put the call out Gigi has been treated to upwards of 1,500 date requests per day from suitors of alls stripes, some of whom who’ve sent poetry and nude photos, according to The Telegraph.

Nude photos in her inbox must be a sign of fatherly love because Gigi said she understands her Cecil’s motives.

"It's not that he can't accept me," Gigi told The Telegraph. "It's that he can't accept how society would view me and the status that it would incur. Marriage is still a form of social status. I do understand him. I understand why he's doing this."

A fair warning to men hoping to win the Gigi Chao lottery, she’s not ready to leave her wife. She said of her marriage to Eav. "I'm very happy when I'm with her.”
