When Naomi Martinez and Anahi Alvarez heard their longtime friend Lillian Skinner had been nominated for homecoming queen, they were thrilled. When the ballots were released and it turned out that the rumor of Lillian's nomination had been a cruel joke made by high school bullies, the girls decided to take a stand. Naomi and Anahi, who had both been nominated themselves, made a pact that if one of them won, they'd happily turn over the crown to its rightful owner, Lillian. And so the night of the homecoming game when Anahi won the crown, she immediately called Lillian up before the whole school and gave it to her instead. The world took notice of this beautiful act of friendship and so did Ellen, who welcomed the girls to her show and announced a few big surprises. Today's society rarely gets to see a story of bullying end on such a hopeful, uplifting note, and we're so glad to see that Naomi, Anahi, and Lillian's story is spreading so publicly.
