Maria Bello Starrer Prime Suspect Gets Order for Six More Episodes

While NBC swiftly canned the low-rated – albeit beloved by those who stuck with it – The Playboy Club, the network has thrown some muscle behind its freshmen procedural Prime Suspect ordering six more episodes of the Maria Bello starrer despite the show’s lackluster ratings, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Prime Suspect, based on the beloved British series that starred Helen Mirren, stars the terrific Bello as Jane Timoney, a tough female detective carving a name for herself in a male-dominated, all too sexist work environment.

The critically acclaimed show has struggled to find an audience in its slot airing after a comedy block on Thursday nights. Here’s hoping Prime Suspect finds its audience over the course of the next several episodes as Bello really exhibits an astonishingly high caliber of acting that’s tough to match on network television. Oh, and she's hot!
