Rosie O’Donnell and fiancée Michelle Rounds got married in a private ceremony back in June, O’Donnell blogged in her signature haiku style. The couple had intended to wed in a ceremony on August 14, but Rounds had been diagnosed with desmoid tumors that prompted them to tie the knot months before the slated wedding in New York on June 9, according to People.
O’Donnell blogged the following regarding their wedding:
“luckily –
as i was in ICU that day
when it rains …
things grow
like love and flowers
humans too
so on we go
we married in private
before her surgery
just the 2 of us
Last week O’Donnell blogged that she’d had a heart attack. She suffered symptoms she thought were a heart attack, she blogged and doctors confirmed that her coronary artery was 99 percent blocked.
Rounds woke up in pain on Mother’s Day and the long road to the desomid tumor diagnosis began, O’Donnell blogged earlier this month. The rare condition affects three out of every million people, according to People.
Last September O’Donnell began to speak openly about her new girlfriend Rounds, whom she met at a Starbucks. Rounds was working as a corporate headhunter for an IT company at the time they met, People reported. By Christmas O’Donnell announced via Us that the pair was engaged but had not set a wedding date.
While the couple is already legally married in New York O’Donnell blogs that they are both looking forward to “the wedding of their dreams” when they are both well enough for it.
Congratulations to O’Donnell and Rounds!
