The divorce of the century (after Mel Gibson and his ex), continues as Melissa Etheridge fires back at the ex Tammy Lynn Michaels, accusing Tammy of using their children as pawns, according to People.
Court papers have surfaced in which Melissa says she cherishes the time she is able to spend with her children between her tour dates this summer. The Oscar and multi-Grammy winner says she was shocked when she traveled to Boston on July 6 to see her 3-year-old twins Johnnie Rose and Miller and to be handed a fistful of court papers from Tammy instead.
"[She] used our children as pawns," Melissa states in court papers released Thursday.
Other court papers that surfaced Thursday included a breakdown of Tammy’s finances in an attempt to seek financial support from Melissa, reports People.
According to the court papers, Tammy, a former actress and full-time mother has no income. Her expenses include $6,000 a month rent, $1,500 for groceries and household supplies, $50 on laundry and cleaning and $800 on dining in restaurants with the toddlers. Before Melissa left her Tammy’s monthly clothing budget was $5,000, according to the papers. The former Popular actress is also asking for $4,300 per month for childcare so that she can free up time to search for and train for a job.
Tammy charges that Melissa makes between $600,000 and $750,000 per month and that Melissa can afford to support her.
Meanwhile, Melissa’s attorney maintains that Melissa pays all of Tammy’s household bills and $2,000 for extras.
