“To anyone who’s ever felt silenced and repressed..."

Christina Aguilera dropped the music video for her latest single "Fall In Line" earlier today, and it's an empowering love letter to young women everywhere.

"To anyone who’s ever felt silenced and repressed, the truth seekers and bold thinkers...may you liberate your voice and break the mold, never back down, and never fall in line," Aguilera tweeted earlier this month.

The single from her upcoming album Liberation features none other than sexually fluid vocal powerhouse Demi Lovato, and the duo urge women to take control of their voices, bodies, and destinies to be exactly who they want to be. It feels more timely than ever with the rise of the #MeToo movement and in the current political climate.

Aguilera spoke on its relevance in an interview.

"I recorded this song “Fall In Line” and this was actually a few years ago before anything in the news had happened or whatever was happening with the climate of the world and it was just a song that you know needed to be heard. I’ve always because I think you know witnessed what I did growing up, I always felt really driven to have a voice that my mom kind of never had in my childhood and growing up. So I have always wanted to be that advocate for women and anybody that was kind of struggling to have their own voice. And “Fall In Line” directly references to believing in yourself and believing to have a voice in its opening lines."
