Out designer Kara Laricks has yet another Fashion Star success under her belt! In the Week 7: Mentor’s Choice episode, Saks Fifth Avenue buyer Terron Schaefer purchased Kara’s designs.

This week each designer was paired with one of the mentors, and the mentor decided what the designer would create. Kara worked with Nicole Richie, who chose to have Kara create a women’s suit.

While Kara was excited about creating a whole suit, she was a bit nervous about having just one week to create three suits to send down the runway. Nevertheless, she did a fantastic job, and not only sold her designs, but also got huge accolades from all three mentors.

Kara and Ross, the Texas-based tailor, were grouped together for the runway show, and then faced the mentors for feedback. Fashion Star host Elle McPherson asked Jessica Simpson if she thought Kara will make a sale, and Jessica gave quite an exciting response.

“Well, my crush has been on Ross this whole time, but it is now on you,” Jessica says to a totally thrilled Kara. “The way that these suits look on these girls… I was like checking them out! I love it!”

Then it was time to face the buyers, and when Macy’s and H&M opted to pass on purchasing Kara’s suits, the camera panned to Nicole as she leaned over and whispered something to John Varvatos. Jessica looked truly concerned and quietly asked John and Nicole, “Do you not think they’re gonna buy?”

Meanwhile, Terron was taking his sweet time in announcing whether or not he would bid on Kara’s designs. In the middle of the extremely uncomfortable, freakishly long pause, John decided to put in a word to the buyers.

“This suit that Kara did is so new. You guys have to take another look here,” he said over loud cheering and applause from the audience. “Come on, you’re crazy for not buying this. That is such a strong piece.”

Then, Elle chimed in, “Terron, I think you should listen to the mentors and the audience. Everybody loves Kara’s suits.”

After more cheers from the crowd and the mentors, Terron, with that devilish, I’m-up-to-something grin he frequently does to make Kara sweat suddenly bid $100,000 for the suit causing Elle to call him “a cheeky monkey.”

Terron, grinning from ear to ear, explained he was just trying to “add some suspense.”

In the end, Terron bought three of Kara's pieces, which are now available for purchase from Saks online and in stores.
