As Grey’s Anatomy fans well know the Musical Event episode that aired Thursday night was the television happening of the year for Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) fans. In a show that showcased Tony winner Ramirez’s vocal chops – as well as other costars’ singing ability – Callie’s life hung in the balance following a devastating car accident that happened within seconds of Arizona asked Callie to marry her.

All of the other juicy plot details from that amazing musical episode aside – including saving Callie and her very premature baby – Callie awoke from a coma and said “Yes, yes I’ll marry you” to Arizona.

Now AE has some of the goods on the upcoming Callie and Arizona May wedding. The gorgeous duo of actresses was shooting a wedding scene at the pristine Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge this week, according to After Ellen.

“Obviously the visibility is incredible,” Ramirez, an impassioned LGBT rights advocate told AE about the wedding. “You can’t make everybody happy and I’m aware of that. But if people are passionate and [the episode] triggers civic dialogue and communication and compassion for one another, I’m thrilled. Not everyone is going to agree on everything all the time, and that's OK. That's what makes our world interesting and challenging and gives us the opportunity to grow with each other and alongside each other if we chose to.”

As nothing ever goes quite as planned on Grey’s the lesbian TV wedding of the decade will have its challenges. Read the entire story here!
