The Emmy nominations were announced Thursday morning, and with the irrepressible Jane Lynch hosting this year's show we just know it’s going to be a great Emmy year.

HBO led the way with the most nominations scoring 104 total, due in no small part to the Kate Winslet starrer Mildred Pierce, which earned 21 nods alone. Although HBO’s roster is well represented with Emmy nods including several for Boardwalk Empire, Cinema Verite, Game of Thrones and Too Big Too Fail.

Here’s the breakdown of some of our favorite women we can expect to see gracing the red carpet at this year’s show.

The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies earned her second Emmy nod for Outstanding Actress in a Drama. Joining her in the category is perennial favorite Mariska Hargitay for Law & Order: SVU, Connie Britton for Friday Night Lights, Kathy Bates for Harry’s Law, Mireille Enos for The Killing and Elisabeth Moss for Mad Men.

Archie Panjabi, who won the Emmy last year for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her portrayal of the resourceful, sexy and bisexual investigator Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife scored another nomination along with costar Christine Baranski, Justified’s Margo Martindale, Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and The Killing’s Michelle Forbes.

For Outstanding Lead Actress in a Mini-Series or a Movie Mildred Pierce’s Kate Winslet faces off with Diane Lane for Cinema Verite, along with Elizabeth McGovern for Downtown Abbey, Taraji P. Henson for Take from Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story and Jean Marsh for Upstairs Downstairs.

Winslet’s costar Evan Rachel Wood earned a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Mini-Series or Movie for playing the ultimate bad seed Veda Pierce in Mildred Pierce. Rounding out her category are her Mildred Pierce costars Melissa Leo and Mare Winningham, along with Downtown Abbey’s Maggie Smith and Eileen Atkins for Upstairs Downstairs.

For Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series look for a few of the usual suspects with Tina Fey landing a nod for 30 Rock, Amy Poehler earning one for Parks and Recreation, Edie Falco for Nurse Jackie and Laura Linney for The Big C. Newcomers to the category include Mike & Molly’s Melissa McCarthy and Raising Hope’s Martha Plimpton.

The Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy category features a few stalwarts including Jane Lynch for Glee,  Betty White for Hot in Cleveland, Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara for Modern Family, Kristen Wiig for Saturday Night Live and Jane Krakowski for 30 Rock.

The Emmy Awards will air on Sept. 18.
