Funny lady Jane Lynch got political when she filled in as host on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight and interviewed the iconic comic Joan Rivers.
Lynch asked Rivers if she’s into politics, and Rivers, who’s never one to hold back said, “Not at all. I think they're all morons.” Rivers said that the politicians need to stop worrying about their next elections and get back to running the country.
The conversation soon turned to Republican opposition to President Obama’s mandate calling for companies to cover contraception, and both Rivers and Lynch had strong opinions on the subject.
“If you don’t have a uterus I don’t want to hear about it,” Rivers said.
Lynch piggybacked on Rivers’ statement saying, “I don’t want a panel of men telling us about contraception and health plans.”
Ever the comedian at heart Rivers began a riff on the double standard that Congressional Republicans don’t appear to have problems with coverage of erection meds.
“They, you know what? Then you pay for your Viagra,” Rivers said.
“And Cialis now, 36-hour erections. I can’t take it,” Rivers added. “Their poor wives.”
Lynch half-joked that, “They’re spending so much money on researching drugs to keep 70-year-old senators hard.”
With that, here’s the conversation:
