SheWired's Shot of the Day: Aniston Does Streisand

SheWired's Shot of the Day: Aniston Does Streisand

There’s something about Jennifer Aniston channeling Barbra Streisand circa Funny Girl for Harper’s Bazaar that really works for Jen. Now I don’t imagine she’ll bust out with a gutsy rendition of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” –let’s face it, Lea Michelle’s got that sewn up for this year – but Jen is definitely tapping into Babs’ sexy side with the fingertip in the mouth look. And remember when Rachel cut her hair into a shoulder length bob for Friends sometime around the early 2000's? Short hair really is her thing.

There is typically a moment in every workday when we come across something sexy, gratuitous and completely pointless that we wish we could post but don't under the auspices of there being no redeeming value. Well, we at SheWired have made an executive decision to just throw all of our pseudo-feminist caution to the wind and begin posting our fave  shot of the day, whether it be sexy, salacious -- or in this case – just an interesting choice.

And remember when Rachel cut her hair into a shoulder length bob for Friends sometime around the early 2000's? Short hair really is her thing.

Let's not forget Jen's got some of Babs’ cracker jack comic timing. She might not be starring in a remake of Yentl anytime soon but a retooling of What’s Up Doc might help Jen land a hit after a series of relative bombs.

Here’s a taste of what Jen has to say about looking up to Barbra:

“Barbra inspires me because there isn’t anything she hasn’t done that she wanted to do, especially as a female in the time when her generation was prime. She’s a true renaissance woman. . . I had a long conversation with Barbra about directing because I directed a short a couple years ago, and if I don’t do it again soon, I’m going to burst out of my skin. And we also love interior design."

While it's all well and good that Jen looks up to Barbra -- who doesn't? -- she should still tread lightly and keep Courteney Cox as her body guard night and day. There are some Streisand purists out there who might not take kindly to Aniston's homage.
