The internet is buzzing - South of Nowhere fans have heard that there might be a SoN movie in the works! On April 15th, a YouTube video with the stars of the show - Mandy Musgrave (Ashley Davies), Gabrielle Christian (Spencer Carlin), Maeve Quinlan (Paula Carlin), Matt Cohen (Aiden Dennison), Aasha Davis (Chelsea Lewis), Valery Ortiz (Madison Duarte), Eileen April Boylan (Kyla Woods) and Chris Hunter (Glen Carlin) became the focus of all the attention.

Since the show went off the air after it's third season on December 12, 2008, the popularity of the show has not died down. The influence the show has had on viewers goes much deeper than it's attractive cast and interesting plot. SoN was the landmark show that featured a gay couple as regulars (Spencer and Ashley), not just as a stunt for sweeps or a one-off. In addition to having the adorable lesbian duo nicknamed SpAshley as main characters, the show was edgy in tackling realistic matters including sex, pregnancy, racism, teen drinking and drugs, death, hate crimes, infidelity, domestic violence, religion and homosexuality.

The stars of SoN still feel the love from fans everywhere they go, and miss the show just as much as viewers. Together with Nancylee Myatt, who wrote the show, the stars decided they wanted to try and bring SoN back in some way. And thus, the YouTube video was created in hopes of generating enough views and hype to get a SoN movie picked up by a network.

Within the first 20 minutes of being posted, the video had over 1,000 views. The goal is to get at least 100,000 views by April 27th. If you are as excited about the possibilty of a SoN movie as we are here at SheWired, then you can help by watching the video (embedded in two parts below), and tweet using the hashtag #southofnowheremovie.

Myatt and the SoN stars created the video and started this campaign out of their love for the show, the characters and each other. They know all the great stories there are still left to tell, and that there are still tons of fans who are dying to see it.

So, watch - and rewatch - the SoN video as many times as you can before April 27th, and get your friends in on it too. You can also get involved by helping the cast spread the word on Twitter. There will be a big push on April 27th, so be sure you are following NancyLee Myatt (@ishakeitup), Matt Cohen (@mattcohen4real), Maeve Quinlin (@maevequinlin), Aasha Davis (@aashadavis), Valery Ortiz (@valstweet), Chris Hunter (@thechris_hunter) and Austen Parros (@aparros) for all the latest details.

As an additional bonus, Mandy, Gaby and Matt did a ustream live chat with fans from around the globe on April 20th, and hope to do another one on April 27th. Details on exactly when the next live session will take place coming soon.
