5 Reasons We're Thrilled About NBC Ordering Pilots From Fey, Jones, and Poehler
It was announced that NBC has ordered pilots from a trifecta of comedic brilliance: Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, and Tina Fey.
In addition to the leadership roles they are already have, (Fey has a producing role on Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Poehler produces Comedy Central's Broad City, and Jones is starring in TBS's Angie Tribeca) each of the comedians will be taking on executive producer positions with their new shows, as well.
Here are just a handfull of the dozens of reasons we're so excited.
1. After we lost Parks and Rec last year, having new comedies from two P&R stars is a dream come true.
2. With the success and positive reviews of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Broad City, we feel confident saying these new shows are going to be just as hilarious and out of the box.
3. This means three badass, brilliant, hilarious ladies will be leading new shows. In a world as historically male-dominated as comedy, this is a win for women.
4. With these comedians having shows on the air simultaneously, the chance of a crossover or collaboration is there. We might hurt our fingers with how hard we're crossing our them.
5. All of the shows were ordered by NBC, so here's hoping they all air the same night and these three women can take over a whole day of the week Shonda Rhimes style.
