Happy birthday to Chris Hemsworth!

On Friday, August 11, 2023, Chris Hemsworth turned 40 years old – and we’re here to celebrate it!

After his breakout role as Kim Hyde in the TV series Home and Away, Hemsworth became one of the biggest Hollywood actors in the world as he played Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Namely, he played Marvel’s God of Thunder in standalone films like 2011’s Thor, 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, and 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. He also reprised his role in ensemble movies such as The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

Outside of the MCU, Hemsworth has also made a name for himself in movies like 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman, 2013’s Rush, 2015’s Vacation, 2016’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot, 2018’s Bad Times at the El Royale, 2019’s Men in Black: International, and in Netflix’s new action franchise Extraction. He is currently set to appear in the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa, which is scheduled for 2024.
