Lil Nas X Apologizes After Transitioning Joke Left Some Fans Frustrated
The rapper initially doubled down before reconsidering.
Lil Nas X’s joking around finally took things too far for some fans.
The rapper apologized Tuesday after posting a tweet of a woman that bore some resemblance to him alongside the caption “the surgery was a success.”
While some found it funny, others were less amused, suggesting that joking about being trans in the current political climate where trans people are constantly being dehumanized isn’t the most compassionate move.
Lil Nas initially defended his tweet, but ultimately deleted it and shared an apology, admitting, “i def handled that situation with anger instead of considering why it was not cool."
His apology was well-received by some trans fans, while others felt it wasn’t enough, and that he should do more to show his support.
The “Old Town Road” singer admittedly didn’t seem too keen on the last tweet claiming he needed to do more to make up for his joke.
“girl eat my ass,” he replied.
Lil Nas X is currently believed to be single.
No, he has made jokes about being pregnant or having a son, but does not have any actual children that we know of.
