The Young Royals cast has a new idea to give the gays what they want — a crossover with Heartstopper.

Both Netflix shows follow young love blossoming between teen boys at school. The graphic novel live-action adaptation of Heartstopper focuses on Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor). Meanwhile, Young Royals features the Prince of Sweden, Wille (Edvin Ryding) starting to fall in love with fellow student Simon (Omar Rudberg).

Both have made a splash in their own right and earned additional season orders, with season two of Young Royals heading to the streamer in November.

Ahead of its release, the stars chatted with Gay Times, and Ryding tossed out the idea of having the characters of both shows collide in one world.

“If Nick and Charlie traveled to Stockholm…” he said. “Maybe this is like season eight of Young Royals and Simon is a successful singer and the biggest one in Sweden. Charlie’s a big fan, so he takes Nick to Stockholm to see Simon sing. You see where I’m going here?”

Of course, the two shows are ultimately very different in tone, and some fans of each have expressed frustration that the two keep being compared simply because they both revolve around queer teens falling in love.

Rydling also noted that himself, calling Heartstopper and Young Royals “two very different kinds of stories.”

At the end of the day, the likelihood of a crossover actually happening is slim to none, so there’s no harm in entertaining the wildest of dreams.

Season two of Young Royals season two premieres November 1 on Netflix.
