Tig Notaro Gets A Little Help From Louis C.K.

Tig Notaro Gets A Little Help From Louis C.K.

We've known Tig Notaro is a funny lady for years, but right now the whole world knows.

Notaro's 2012 has been nothing but eventful: a deadly intestinal infection, the unexpected death of her mother, and getting out of a rough relationship, all before being diagnosed with breast cancer. All of those things came to a head at a now-legendary set at Largo in Los Angeles, where fellow comedian Louis C.K. called it one of the best sets he's ever witnessed during his career.

Now her fellow humorist is helping her release the full recording titled, LIVE (as in, rhymes with give), on October 5 on LouisCK.com. A portion of her performance will air on the October 5 episode of This American Life, along with an interview with host Ira Glass.

Louis C.K.'s revolutionary self-produced, self-distributed Louis CK: Live at the Beacon Theater, earned $1 million before ever airing on television thanks to his strong legion of fans. Other comedians like Aziz Ansari and Jim Gaffigan were inspired to follow suit, and this Sunday, Louis C.K. won an Emmy for the special.
