She’s a Barbie girl in a Barbie World… but it’s all falling apart!

After getting iconic first-look images, instantly meme-able posters, and hilarious teaser trailers, the live-action Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has finally released its first full trailer.

In the newly-released full Barbie trailer, Robbie’s Barbie is shown living a perfect life full of perfect days, but she’s also experiencing a slight existential crisis. She brings up the idea of death during a dance party, her showers are suddenly cold, and her heels – shocker! – are now touching the ground.

This results in Robbie’s Barbie visiting what appears to be a wise Barbie played by Kate McKinnon. “You have to go to the real world,” McKinnon’s Barbie explains. On her way to the real world, it is revealed that Gosling’s Ken is coming along for the journey.

The subsequent events in the Barbie trailer show Robbie and Gosling’s characters out in the real world, meeting real people and getting judged by their flashy appearances and personalities.

We also see a glimpse of Will Ferrell’s character, the fictional CEO of Mattel, finding out that a Barbie and a Ken have broken out of Barbie World. “No one rests until this doll is back in a box,” Ferrell’s character declares.

The trailer also announces that the Barbie movie is for people who love Barbie dolls, and also for people who hate Barbie dolls. We can’t wait to see how this turns out!

Barbie opens July 21 in theaters.
