Tamara Braun Snags Best Supporting Actress Emmy

Tamara Braun, best known to SheWired.com fans as one half of All My Children’s lesbian couple “Rianca,” took home a Daytime Emmy Sunday night for Best Supporting Actress for her work on another soap, Days of Our Lives.

Tamara Braun, best known to SheWired.com fans as one half of All My Children’s lesbian couple “Rianca,” took home a Daytime Emmy Sunday night for Best Supporting Actress for her work on another soap, Days of Our Lives.

On the show, Braun played Ava Vitali, the “off her rocker” ex of one of the show’s leads who resorted to kidnapping to land her man. But it was her work as Reese Williams on AMC that made her a favorite of lesbian fans. Though many fans argued about the writing of that show's lesbian romance, Braun and co-star Eden Riegel have stepped front and center as supporters of the community and outspoken advocates for gay rights.

With All My Children moving its production facilities from New York to Los Angeles this fall, rumors are swirling that Braun might just return to the show. She’s currently guest starring on the Holly Hunter drama Saving Grace, which was just cancelled earlier this month.
