'V's' Elizabeth Mitchell: Our Perfect Date

'V's' Elizabeth Mitchell: Our Perfect Date

Fresh off Lost, lesbian favorite Elizabeth Mitchell's character on V — like FlashForward's Christine Woods— is everything we want in a date: Strong, Sensitive and Smart.

ABC is doing something right when it comes to writing strong female characters, and Tuesday’s premiere of alien invasion drama V proved that for the second time this season with Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost).

As FBI agent Erica Evans, Mitchell becomes the network’s second kick-ass female FBI agent — FlashForward’s Christine Woods being the other — ABC is doing its best to attract female viewers to dramas that typically skew predominantly male.

In Tuesday’s pilot episode, Mitchell showed off characteristics that are on every lesbian’s wish list:

Strong: Mitchell beat the human skin off her FBI partner in crime Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Dollhouse) when he revealed himself as a Visitor during a meeting establishing the Resistance. Makes you wonder how she’d fare during your typical lesbian arm wrestling bout. Either way, it’s hot.

Sensitive: The apparently single mother of an impressionable teenage son (Logan Huffman) threw work out the window when the Visitors arrived in a mad dash to reunite with her renegade 17-year-old. Here’s an acronym to consider of Mitchell’s FBI agent/mom: MILF.

Smart: During the Resistance meeting, our beloved Mitchell was the outspoken stranger who was first to question what was going on internally as well as the first to make the connection that the sleeper cell was indeed comprised of Visitors. Brains: The ultimate turn-on!

So she can hold an intelligent conversation, kick our ass and then nurse us back to health. Sounds like quite a package.

... as well as with Laura Innes on ER.

So thanks, ABC, for adding Mitchell to your league of fierce women — headed by Sara Ramirez as Dr. Callie Torres on Grey’s Anatomy, of course.

V airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
