As a site that features entertainment and news geared toward the lesbian community at large we are committed to highlighting artists, musicians and craftspeople in the community. This week we would like to introduce you to the stylings of Kate Moss -- not the supermodel, but this one is English as well. Kate Moss (RTBYK8) works in a variety of mediums including photography, printmaking and crafts, often adding an artistically kitsch element to pop and lesbian culture.
This weekend she will be at the 17th Annual Jamaica Plain Open Studios, which runs on the 25th and 26th of September 2010. Patrons will have the opportunity to visit with 219 artists and tour 90 studios and group sites. People can meet artists face to face and learn about their technique and unique style of art. It also provides a wonderful opportunity to discover the great neighborhood of Jamaica Plain which could be the most diverse neighborhood in Boston.
Visit Open Studios and discover the fascinating and fun world of Kate's printmaking, study the printing plates and get an in-depth explanation of the process from the artist. There will also be hand made cards and crafts available for viewing and purchase.
