We’re euphoric about this news.

Last week, Barbie Ferreira announced the sad news that, after two seasons starring on Euphoria, she’s leaving the show. It was a shock and fans were heartbroken that they wouldn’t get to see more of her character Kat Hernandez’s story play out. Well, good news Ferreira-heads, because she’s staying booked and blessed and her new gig sounds so good it’s scary.

“I hope many of you could see yourself in her like i did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today,” Ferreira shared on Instagram about her saying goodbye to the hit HBO series. “I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. love you katherine hernandez.”

As they say, one door closes... and today Amazon and Blumhouse Television dropped some seriously exciting news. Ferreira has officially joined the cast of Prime Video’s House of Spoils alongside Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose. The film, which is being directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy from their own script, is reportedly a psychological thriller.

As the logline lays out, “The film follows an ambitious chef (Ariana DeBose) who opens her first restaurant — a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate — where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor, crushing self-doubts… and the powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner who threatens to sabotage her at every turn. House of Spoils is a tense, psychological, and sensuous thriller that will leave hearts pounding and mouths watering.”

Cole and Krudy previously collaborated on the excellent Blow the Man Down, which was released through Prime Video in 2019. That film is about two sisters who cover up a crime and find themselves pulled into the underbelly of their small fishing town in the process. (Seriously, if you haven’t seen it, correct that).
