A lesbian couple in Oregon has accepted Ace of Cakes' Duff Goldman's offer to make a cake for their wedding after a local baker refused to serve them based on his religious beliefs.

The celebrity baker, and executive chef at Baltimore's Charm City Cakes, offered the couple a free cake, delivered without charge to their ceremony in Oregon after he heard about the "injustice involving cake" that he felt he could remedy.

"It involves cake, it involves love, marriage — all things I'm a big fan of," Goldman told ABC News. 

The couple, who have not been publicly identified, issued a statement through their lawyer, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support.

“We are especially thankful that LGBT-supportive companies have graciously offered their services to make our special day perfect,” they said.

Aaron Klein, the owner of the Gresham, Ore., bakery Sweet Cakes, allegedly refused to bake a cake for his customer's same-sex wedding, calling the lesbian couple "an abomination of the Lord." Klein is now under investigation over the incident, as an Oregon statute bans discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in public accommodation, which includes businesses. However, that statute may conflict with Klein’s constitutional right to practice his religion. The office of Oregon’s attorney general is investigating the matter.
