Sarah Silverman, the actress who told MTV it was “embarrassing” that gay people couldn’t marry, has found a home for her latest project on NBC. In the aftermath of an intense bidding war between several networks, NBC has committed to a pilot of the single-camera comedy which will star Silverman as a woman who must adjust to life in the single lane after a failed long-term relationship, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The potential series is loosely based on Silverman’s personal life. The LGBT ally, who has become a fixture at the LA Gay and Lesbian Center's An Evening with Women, co-wrote the series along with Dan Sterling and Jon Schoroeder—the two men who co-wrote her previous Comedy Central series The Sarah Silverman Program.
Silverman and Sterling are also credited with Executive producing the project with an impressive list of names, which includes Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo.
