1975’s Matt Healy Makes Out With Male Fan on Stage & We’re Sweating
It should've been me!
Matt Healy, the lead singer of indie rock band The 1975, is no stranger to kissing fans on stage but a new video from a recent concert has us blushing.
The moment happened this past weekend on the group's tour during the song "Robbers". It's not clear when the fan came on stage but after singing "you found out everything's gone wrong," Healy leans in for a kiss, and the audience absolutely loses it. Healy tears himself away to sing the next lyric, "Now everybody's dead," but leans in for another peck before the guy is ushered off stage. The unknown (but adorable) guy saunters off stage with a smile on his face.

The two had some real chemistry and fans are obsessed with the moment. "Not dude blushing as security dragging him away," one commenter wrote. Another said, "OH I KNOW HE'S TWIRLING HIS IMAGINARY LONG HAIR, GIGGLING, AND KICKING THE AIR THE NIGHT AFTER!!"
Like we said earlier, this isn't the first time Healy has kissed a fan on stage. He's brought fans on stage a few times for some smooches this tour. In 2019, a kiss from Healy actually stirred up some drama when he locked lips with a gay fan in Dubai. "Homosexuality is still criminalized in Dubai, and with videos of the moment spreading around social media, fans worried that a public kiss from Healy would put the fan at risk and that the government would try to arrest the man," PRIDE wrote at the time. Healy later said that kiss felt "irresponsible," though he maintained his support for the global LGBTQ+ community.
Though he doesn't publicly identify as gay or bisexual, Healy has previously said he finds men attractive in a non-sexual way. "The other sex is still attractive, it’s just that sex is weird, isn’t it?" he said in a 2018 interview with Shortlist. "Do you know what I mean? It’s, like, do I want to do blowjobs with a guy? No. Do I want to kiss a guy? Yeah, kind of..."
Healy was reportedly dating singer-songwriter FKA Twigs but the two allegedly broke up earlier this year. His current relationship status is unknown.
The group name was inspired by a Jack Kerouac poetry book that Healy owned that had "1 June, The 1975" written on the back.
