A new casting call from Marvel Studios reveals that the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be getting its first trans woman superhero!
Codenamed "Jessica," the casting call is looking for a trans woman actress of any ethnicity in her 20s to 30s, reports Geeks WorldWide. It's purposefully unclear what exactly the casting call is for, as it could be a Phase 4 MCU movie or something for a Disney+ series.
Fans well-versed in the comics believe the casting call is for Sera, Marvel's only existing trans woman superhero, for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder movie. The film reportedly begins filming next summer.
"In the comics, Sera is an Anchorite, a small group of male, wingless Angels who were kept inside a temple in Heven, the Tenth Realm," writes Geeks WorldWide. "Sera was the only one of the Anchorites who identified as a woman, thus being the first and, so far, only major trans woman in Marvel comics. She was kept inside the temple until she met Angela, Thor’s long-lost half-sister, and helped her defeat a monster. For her help, Angela freed Sera and they stuck together through many adventures across the Nine Realms, eventually becoming lovers."

The actress has been campaigning to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for months and we can't think of anyone more deserving!
