What It's Like to Be a Lesbian Who Hates Cats

In short: it's awkward.

One major stereotype is that all lesbians LOVE cats, but not all queer women do. People think we all live in cat hair, that we cuddle our ~gal pals~ alongside kitties, and that we can't pass a kitten on the street without taking it home. Sometimes, this is true. After all, kittens can be pretty damn cute. But other times, we hate cats. In a word? It's awkward.

So what is it like to be a queer woman who hates cats?

1. When your friend's cats keep crawling all over you

2. When you’re trying to play off your cat hatred

3. When you let it slip to your friends that you don’t actually love cats

4. When you accidentally snap at a kitten

5. When the cute girl you’re hooking up with say she LOVES cats

6. When you go to your girlfriend’s house and her cat attacks you

7. When you tell bae that you don’t want to keep the cat she found outside

8. When you manage to catsit without killing the kitties

9. When you meet another queer woman who hates cats

10. When you hang out and bond over your mutual dislike of the feline monsters

11. When you realize you’ll never escape them, so you try to love cats instead

12. When you come to the conclusion that you won’t love them, either, but you can live in semi-harmony

13. After all, it could be worse
