Lady Gaga Just Postponed the Release of New 'Chromatica' Album

"This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us," the Oscar winner said in a statement.

We were looking forward to so many pop culture and entertainment things this year, but because of the current state of the world and the ongoing global health crisis, it looks like a lot of the things we were hoping for—like Lady Gaga's upcoming studio album Chromatica—will just have to be put on hold for now.

Yup. The Oscar-winning pop legend just announced that her newest album (her first in four years), which was originally set for release on April 10, is being pushed back to a later date sometime this year.

"I wanted to tell you, that after a lot of deliberation, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatica," Gaga wrote in a statement she posted on her Twitter account. "I will announce a new 2020 release date soon. This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right for me to release this album with all that going on during this global pandemic."

Revealing what she had planned for this era (including a secret set at the annual Coachella music festival, which was also postponed due to the current pandemic), she continued:

"I had so many fun things planned for us to celebrate together. I had a secret Coachella set lined up, and a lot of other fun surprises, some of which I’m still planning to share with all of you very soon! I hope you can see that when the album does come out, I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss each other, and make the most bombastic celebration of all time."

*cries deeply*

At least we have the music video for "Stupid Love" to hold us over in the meantime?!?
