Fringe fans are likely still mourning the end of the series, but out actress Jasika Nicole, who played Astrid on the beloved sci-fi-ish series for five seasons, is headed to Shondaland for an appearance on ABC’s twisty thriller Scandal, creator Shonda Rhimes Tweeted, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Shonda, the formidable showrunner behind Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal, is tight-lipped about just who Jasika will play on Scandal, the frothy Kerry Washington starrer about a cleaner who fixes high-level problems in the nation’s capital.

All that’s been said about Jasika’ appearance is that it will be “very surprising,” according to THR.

Here’s hoping Jasika’s character plays a female fling from lead character Olivia Pope’s past, and they discover the spark is still there. You know, just a little something to take Olivia’s mind off her troubles with the President. Just a thought Shonda!
